Bottlenose dolphin research at the Beaufort Lab includes:

tracking dolphins using telemetry/tagging during periods of months to a year
using photo-identification to track individuals over many years
using stable isotope ratios to learn more about diets and habitats of dolphins over periods of months to a lifetime
studying genetic structure of groups of dolphins providing evolutionary history, in collaboration with the SEFSC marine mammal genetics lab in Lafayette, LA
studying life history of the bottlenose dolphin
researching health of bottlenose dolphins
