Satellite Telemetry
Our telemetry research involves deployment of satellite transmitters on loggerhead, green, and Kemp's ridley sea turtles for the purpose of:
- characterizing spatial and temporal patterns in surfacing behavior to allow calibration of aerial survey data
- monitoring turtle movements in NC waters, to evaluate the potential for interaction with co-occurring military maneuvers and fishing activity
- evaluating habitat use and migratory movements
