Shipping Samples In Dry Ice (Carbon Dioxide)

The shipment of biological samples packed in dry ice is regulated by the Dangerous Goods Regulations and the Department of Transportation when offered for shipment by either AIR or WATER only.  The shipment of samples packed in dry ice is NOT regulated when offered for ground transportation.  The following guidance will be used whenever samples are packed in dry ice for shipment via air.  Shipments of dry ice are not normally offered for transport by water and will be addressed on a case by case basis.
